Youth Activities
Our youth/young adult programs are aimed at supporting skill development, knowledge, confidence and community engagement of young people from new and emerging communities.
The types of activities vary and are adapted to suit the needs and interests of our youth. We introduce them to various supports available in Mildura to encourage social participation, communication and teamwork.
We have two main programs available:
- Homework Club (ages 12-18): Thursday after school until 5pm
- One-on-one youth support (ages 17 to 25): Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays by appointment.
These programs aim to provide youth with:
- Knowledge and skills to understand and contact services and special interest groups in the wider community.
- Life skills – including nutrition and cooking, budgeting, mental and physical health, learner licence and driving support, citizenship and visa support, respectful relationships and affirmative consent, current and further study, job support.
- Exposure to a wide range of professionals, authorities and industry experts such as Victoria Police, Fire and Ambulance, Council, sporting groups and other youth club opportunities.
- One-on-one support that assists with a range of advice and referral services.
- A safe space to have fun, be themselves and reach their full potential.
