Finance & Administration Officer - Full-time

Renumeration: SCHADS Level 2.1 $33.41 per hour

Location: Mildura VIC 3500

The Finance and Administration Officer is responsible for the effective delivery of the organisation’s day-to-day
administrative functions, including financial and administration tasks. This position will ensure accurate maintenance
of records to support the organisation’s operational and governance requirements and provide front-of-house
administrative support.

What you’ll be doing

Administration Support:

  • General reception administrative duties, including answering calls and greeting visitors.
  • Manage office supplies and maintain administrative systems.

Financial Administration:

  • Process invoices, payments, and receipts in Xero.
  • Assist with bank reconciliations and financial reporting.
  • Liaise with staff, suppliers, and funding agencies regarding invoices.
  • Assist the Corporate Services Manager in preparing financial reports

Human Resources Support:

  • Process payroll and onboard new employees.
  • Assist with recruitment and HR-related queries

What we’re looking for

  • Relevant qualification in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in the not-for-profit or community services sector
  • Strong financial management skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy
  • Excellent administrative and organisational abilities, with the capacity to multitask and prioritise effectively
  • Proficient in using Xero accounting and payroll software and Microsoft Office suite including Teams
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach
  • A genuine interest in supporting the diverse communities we serve

Renumeration: SCHADS Award level 2.1
25 Hours per week (Fixed term contract till Dec 2024) 

Location: Mildura (may require some travel to Robinvale)

The purpose of this role is to engage and educate culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) people. The service will provide reading, writing, listening and speaking English as additional language (EAL) activities to CALD groups to enhance their overall language skills. Life-skills will be improved to communicate when using mainstream services, to gain better employment opportunities, and to build participation and interaction among each other and within the community. Due to the nature of this service, some out-of-hours work may be required.
