Key Announcements
People rise higher against challenging winds when tethered to community.
Since 1979, Sunraysia Mallee Ethnic Communities Council (SMECC) has provided local migrant and refugee communities with a range of services. SMECC continues to work with, and represent, all multicultural communities within the Mallee region. SMECC’s mission is to facilitate and enable the social and economic participation and integration of multicultural communities in our region.
Looking to Connect?
SMECC helps to ensure that local multicultural community members have the opportunity to participate socially and economically within the wider community. Our Connecting activities provide a wide variety of opportunities for the members of our local community. Our Connecting activities include, Playgroups, Youth activities, settlement services and much more.
A desire to learn?
SMECC’s Learning activities are designed to assist our newly arrived culturally diverse community to participate within the wider community. We provide a range of learning opportunities for those wanting to increase their skills and knowledge. Some of our classes include English language, Digital literacy, Early childhood education and Driving lessons. We also offer tailored information sessions for community and Cultural training for organisations.
Sharing is caring!
As a registered charity, SMECC works very hard to ensure that our community members are given the opportunity to thrive. Our Food Share program services all members of the community, providing much needed relief to families in need. Additionally, we often partner with other state and local organisations, to provide opportunities to our culturally diverse community members, and of course we rely on the valuable contributions of volunteers and donations.
